Homeschool Physical Education aims to get participants engaged with old or new friends and physical activity through entertaining classes – designed just for homeschoolers during the afternoons. The classes are for ages ~9 and up and are held at the Kim Geist Academy.
Structure: Rather than a free-form gym class, this program takes a purposeful approach to physical education. Students will learn how to move correctly, use their body safely and effectively, and build foundational strength that supports their long-term physical health.
Approach: The programming utilizes a variety of movement, teaches proper technique, and builds strength and endurance through safe, age-appropriate exercise. Each class offers a balanced mix of individual exercises and group activities that encourage progress and goal setting while having fun among peers. The classes provide a structured and enjoyable way for students to get active and develop life-long fitness habits, in a focused environment.
Benefits: Whether the goal is to improve coordination, gain strength, or simply stay physically active during the more difficult winter months, the classes offer structured guidance and consistency. They also help to build important life skills like confidence, perseverence, and teamwork en route to physical education credit.
