The name Finesse & Fury originates from the formation of a partnership, one that combined two styles of approach to training and competing in the discipline of endurance track cycling. Although both individuals possessed characteristics of each style, each individual demonstrated a dominant style. One person approached the sport primarily through a high level of skill, tactical prowess, and studiousness towards the sport – the embodiment of finesse. The other person approached the sport primarily through a tremendous amount of brute strength, intensity, and relentlessness in perseverance – the embodiment of fury. A complementary pairing was formed, guiding their approach to success in sport and life. Finesse & Fury.

The athletes who are a part of this program will most certainly possess characteristics of each style and together will complement each other on a supportive, yet competitive, journey. This is just as Coach Kim Geist, the Finesse, and Assistant Kim Zubris, the Fury, did when they trained and competed alongside and against one another.

Finesse & Fury by Kim Geist Coaching is intentionally small. We choose to be small to avoid the slow-moving nature and red tape that we have seen as a result of working as a larger organization. We also know we are a complementary partnership that gets done with far less people what most do with many. By being small we have the ability to easily try and implement new strategies, always have an open communication line directly with athletes, and can be more a part of the program than dictate from above. We do not, however, work in a small vacuum environment. We are never afraid to identify what we do not know and utilize our resources.
